- recognize the need to develop and sustain professional standards through certification procedures for individuals, organizations and education programmes,
- underline the need to advance the creation and development of virtual educational tools for the promotion of online training through the application of new technologies,
- encourage European governments to promote the mobility of archival professionals within Europe.
The participants of the conference encourage the key educational institutions teaching archivists to:
- strengthen cooperation and common initiatives in order to increase the quality of archival education,
- improve tools for the assessment of the quality of archival education for accreditation.
The participants of the conference stress the significance of workshops, presenting the most important problems, including archival law, the accessibility of archives in the virtual environment and the protection of archival holdings.
Because of the importance of the subjects covered during the 7th European Conference on Archives, the participants ask the Head Office of State Archives of Poland to disseminate the conference papers as widely as possible throughout the international archival community.
