An archivist-palaeographer, custodian, specialist in archival science. In the years 1989-2002, Christine Martinez worked at the Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since 2003, she has been in charge of international relations at the Directorate of the Archives of France. At the same time, since 2001, she has been the head of the Professional Training Centre at the Association of French Archivists.
