Announcement

The Head Office of State Archives (Naczelna Dyrekcja Archiwów Państwowych) hereby informs about the termination of cooperation with the Jewish Record Indexing Poland (JRI-PL) as of 30 November 2006 with respect to:

• the development of electronic indexes to public and parish civil status (BMD) registers of the Jewish faith,
• placing of orders for copies of civil status (BMD) records with the State Archives through the intermediation of JRI-PL-AP Order Coordination Centre.

Persons interested in obtaining copies of civil status records may place orders directly with the State Archives competent due to the place of preservation of civil status (BMD) registers. Information on the location of civil status registers is available at here.
Databases are still available to search in (http://www.jewishgen.org/jri-pl/jriplweb.htm).
In the event of any difficulties connected with the performance of queries in civil status registers from the holdings of the Polish State Archives, please do not hesitate to contact:
