A. Pająk (1893–1965), żołnierz II Brygady Legionów, działacz PPS, został  w 1940 r. deportowany do Jakucji, skąd w końcu 1942 r. ewakuował się wraz z tysiącami Polaków początkowo do Iranu i póżniej do Palestyny. Na terenach tych pełnił funkcję zastępcy delegata Ministerstwa Pracy i Opieki Społecznej. W 1948 r. przyjechał do Londynu. W latach 1955–1965 był premierem rządu polskiego na uchodźstwie. Akta (przekazane do Archiwum Akt Nowych w 2007 r.) dotyczą nie tylko działalności A. Pająka i spraw jego rodziny, ale także dziejów polskich władz na uchodźstwie i życia politycznego emigracji powojennej, zwłaszcza w Wielkiej Brytanii.

A. Pająk (1893–1965), a soldier of the 2nd Brigade of Legions, activist of the Polish Socialist Party (PPS), deported to Yakutia in 1940, from where he managed to evacuate at the end of 1942, first to Iran, then to Palestine. In those territories, he performed the function of a delegate of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. In 1948, he arrived in London. In the years of 1955–1965, he was the Prime Minister of the Polish Government in Exile. The records (transferred to the Archives of Modern Records in 2007) pertain not only to A. Pająk’s activity and the affairs of his family, but also the history of Polish authorities in exile and political life of post-war emigration, in Great Britain, in particular.
